Okay, right off the bat, this post has nothing to do with World of Warcraft. Nothing at all. This post has to do with a fun little situation I had at work today.
I work at Fresno Pacific University in Fresno, California. I work as an Application Specialist in Information Technology Services. So I’m standing at the helpdesk work bench, putting a processor and heat sync back into a computer, with thermal compound all over my hands, when the phone rings. So, I answer it with the clean part of my hands.
“IT Services, this is Brandon, can I help you?”
“Hey, this is (someone) in AIMS-112, there’s water leaking from the ceiling. I’ve called facilities but I think you may want to come take a look.”

Man, I just love the engineering flying mounts. They just look so awesome!

I love they way they hover along then ground when you’re not actually “flying.” I especially love that the epic version requires a Hula Girl Doll to create, and actually shows up on the mount itself! Needless to say, I want one pretty bad.

I’ve never been on the PTR before. I’d like to try out the 2.4 stuff, but 2.4 will eventually get to me, and I need to get a hunter (and perhaps one other–debating between druid and paladin) to 70. Plus, since Kolorian is 65, I won’t exactly be testing out the new instances in 2.4. So, for now, any information you guys get on 2.4 is coming from other places on the Internet.

I am such an altoholic. I’m not sure why. I’ve always been a fan of fantasy literature, of magic wielding sorcerers casting spells left and right. That’s why my first characters were a mage and a warlock. I’ve tried a warrior for the purposes of tanking, but I didn’t care too much for the playstyle. I love the feel of a hunter, but sometimes I feel like I want something different and play on my druid. I have a ton of fun on my druid, but after a while, I feel like I should go back to my hunter or warlock and get them up in level–they are getting much closer much faster to the level cap, if I’d just make myself I could get them there. Then I feel like I want to play a healer for a while, and the idea of paladin AOE tanking sounds like fun, as well as all those SM solo runs.
This is why I have nine toons. *sigh*
At any rate, I’ve been going pretty good on my hunter lately–getting multiple levels a day in the 40s, which isn’t too bad. So, I think I’ll bring this one to 70 first. What do you guys think? Do you have the same problem?

Wowhead, one of my favorite World of Warcraft database sites, has a new feature: dynamic search! Now when you start to type the name of an item, quest, NPC, etc. in the search box, a list of possible matches drops down, color coded and complete with icons:

Just another great feature of an already great site.

The patch notes for patch 2.4 just showed up at the Test Realm Patch Notes page. Everything we were promised is there, plus some. There are lots of bug fixes to abilities and items, as well as other miscellaneous fixes. More info once I can get on and test it out!

I’ve been playing my hunter as my main for a little while now. But since 2.x (I can’t remember exactly which), my pet’s been acting strange. Specifically, there are two problems. First of all, when running around town (or anywhere else for that matter), the pet will start to lag behind, eventually to the point where it auto-dismisses. Second, when told to attack, he begins to run boldly into combat, then suddenly slows to a walk, then to a crawl, then finally attacks the mob. This seems to take forever–it may not be forever, but it is way too long. Hoping this gets fixed in 2.4!

As most of you know, patch 2.3 introduced an experience curve that isn’t quite so steep for the majority of the old world levels (from 20 to 60), and experience gained from quests has been increased (from 30 to 60, getting more increased as you get closer to 60). This makes those of us who suffer with altitis very happy–it also means there’s no better time to hit it up if you want to switch to another character as your main.
With WotLK coming later this year (most likely), the level cap will be raised again to 80. I don’t know about you, but 1-60 again doesn’t sound like much fun, and 1-70 sounds like even less fun for those who, like me, just made another character my main. 1-80 sounds even more less not un-fun that that! Thankfully, the new curve helps get your low level toon up to 60 quicker. But that’s when the bonuses stop–60-70 have to be done the old fashion way.
But is the decreased XP needed/increased XP gained completely a good thing? Let’s take a look.

The folks over at WOW Insider pointed out a thread on the WoW forums asking the simple question, who’s got the most honorable kills out there? What do you think the highest could possibly be? Personally I was surprised: the current highest reported is 411,807. Holy crap! Theplague from EU Frostmane has done some serious PvP!

Edit: As one commenter points out, with a little math, you can pull up this guy’s average HK’s per day. WoW was released in the US on November 23, 2004. He play’s on a EU server, but we’ll be generous for the sake of math. We’ll also be generous and call that three and a half years since WoW was released. If you do the math, this guy’s avarage HK’s per day is over 300! And this is all assuming he’s been playing WoW since day one!

We’ve all been waiting for news of patch 2.4 for a couple of reasons: first, it means more changes, a little bit of new stuff, some new instances, and so fort, and second, because 2.4 is the last major content patch before the expansion comes out. I’m pretty excited about 2.4 for the first reason. The second one doesn’t excite me as much because, well, I haven’t hit 70 yet–there’s still a lot for me to experience, and if I’m just dinging 70 when the expansion comes out, I might as well forget it–no one will be running the old content unless they’re even slower than me, which is not likely.
However, everything we know about 2.4 has come from blue posts on the forums. We don’t have the official PTR patch notes yet. None the less, 2.4 has some pretty cool stuff in it already. Several sites have compiled a list of changes gathered from the forums. Let’s take a look at what we’re getting.
