Welcome to Outland! Again.
Posted on April 17, 2008 under Uncategorized | 1 CommentWorld of Warcraft is an ever-changing game. While reading this post, keep the date it was written in mind—changes may have occurred since then!
I posted on April 8th that I had just hit level 50 and gotten Mangle. In a fit of leveling frenzy I hit 58 not long after, and just before logging off last night I was looking at a level 61 druid with 25% (that’s 5 bubbles for you non-math folks) left to go until 62 and start getting the really fun spells every two levels. Maim, Lifebloom, Lacerate, and of course Flight Form are the highlights in this area.
A long time ago, back when I first started playing WoW, I had a druid, and got him to level 16 or so. Faerhan was his name. I hated him, and deleted him to make room for a bank alt much much later in life. If only I had gotten to level 20… I’ve not had so much fun leveling a character as I have with Tasmyn, my druid. I can’t wait until she hits 70 and the real fun begins!
This time around, I actually did my professions right. For one thing, I got two gathering professions, and made sure to level them as I went along. I was also very diligent in my cooking, although I’m stuck at 293, and since the one profession I didn’t level properly was fishing, I’m stuck until the AH or /2 offers me some fish to kick it on over the top. I’m quite happy with the results: lots of gold!
I usually have a hard time with gold, but by selling everything I gather, I hit Outland with about 200g, and after being there for two days (the time it took to get from 58 to 61), I have a little over 300. It won’t take me long to get my epic land mount, which I want almost as much for completing the prerequisite for getting Flight Form as I do for the actual speed increase.
Another good thing about having two gathering professions is that I can easily go to either leatherworking or alchemy if I want to, and I’ve really been thinking about Alchemy lately. My warlock is also an alchemist, but I almost never play him–I have to think long and hard about what I’m going to do about that situation.
So, here I am, sitting near the bottom of the huge hill that is the grind from 60-70. I don’t think it’ll take too long. See you all there!

Congrats! You’re really really making me want to level a druid.
