Well, one thing I've noticed is that you seem very heavily involved in the blogosphere. You interact with a lot of fellow World of Warcraft players who most likely aren't on your server on a regular basis. If you aren't finding what you need on your server, why not talk to some of those people? Transferring to friends' servers or rerolling with a group of friends is always fun. Sometimes even having close friends with you when you reroll can make the whole leveling experience more tolerable -- or even fun!
.
The alternatives would be to chug away solo are you are now, hope that someone or something wants you around on your current server (and it looks like you've gone through most of the possible paths), or, well, stop playing. Because, honestly, the game should be fun. And if you're not finding the game fun then you probably shouldn't be playing.
.
That said, I think a lot of it has to do with the pre-expansion doldrums. Fortunately, I just got into an awesome guild of people I've known for almost a year now and their antics are keeping me from feeling the same malaise. Good luck with getting out of the funk!

I know where you're coming from. I did play a lot on Maelstrom but I played mostly on my days off till around 5PM sometimes till 8 or whenever I had to go to work later in the day I would play in the mornings. And it never failed when I had a day off you would have to work or if I was on in the morning you were going to work so that's why we hardly saw each other online. After a while everyone that I was playing with wasn't around anymore. Snow left the server, Joe hardly played, my friend Jerad played a lot but late at night, and my friend Matt played a lot but leveled a lot faster and left me behind then he didn't play as often. So it wasn't too long before every time I got online I had nobody to talk to. Especially after my guild left the server. I would get online, see nobody on my friends list and really have no motivation to even play the game. Because if you can't play with someone who is fun to play with and keeps you company the game really isn't all that fun. And so thats when I started playing less and less and eventually quit. But of course then I came back on a server to play with Joe and was botting a mage that was AWESOME! until Blizzard decided to ban me. But that's neither here nor there.

I guess the bottom line is you have to do whatever it is you have to do to have fun playing the game or else it really isn't worth the $15 a month ($30 since you're paying for two) and countless (well not really countless cause you can see your /played) hours of sitting there playing a game.

I've moved onto Call of Duty 4 <3
