After a very long wait, PLAYXPERT has released an early beta version of their software. PLAYXPERT is a unique program to allow common tasks, such as web browsing, IMing, and controlling music, to be handled through an overlay presented over top of your full screen games. I have yet to test the software, but if you decide to, you should know that this is an early public beta, and does have quite a few bugs in it.

Being The Altoholic, I naturally have a lot of… well, alts. A few of them have made it to or close to the level cap, and a few of them are between 35 and 50. But, most of them are lower, many of them much lower.
Two classes I’ve always wanted to level but never really have are paladin and priest. I dearly want a pally tank, though a death knight tank could be cool as well, and I’ve always wanted to try a healer (just recently I took my druid resto, that’s my total sum of experience with healing) and maybe experience all this face melting everyone is talking about.
I’ve started a priest a few times, but never gotten one past level 10. I’ve also started a pally or five, and recently finally got one to around level 26. The pally, as many of you know, is absolutely painful to level (at least in many people’s opinion). The lack of things to do between auto attacks, especially in the lower level range, makes it a bit boring, and troublesome when fighting a lot of runners.
So this all got me to thinking: how could I make leveling these two classes less boring? I toyed with ideas back and forth, but nothing leapt out at me. Then, looking through my blue post tracker RSS feed, I saw yet another player complaining about multiboxers in PvP. Then it hit me: what if I leveled the pally and the priest at the same time?
Thus began my foray into multiboxing. Throughout this series of as-of-yet undetermined length, I will explore my experiences as a complete multiboxing noob, including tips, resources, and any thing else I personally find useful or interesting on the subject. Stay tuned!

The default UI in WoW is really good, and a lot of people use it (or something pretty close), but I love making my UI my own, setting it up exactly the way I want. In World of Warcraft, you do this through addons (or mods, though mods technically is not correct). The problem with addons is that first you have to find ones that work the way you want, then you have to keep them updated every patch.
I love addons. I have a lot. And, to help with one part of the problem outlined previously, I’m starting a new feature entitled “Mod Madness,” where I will bring you what you need to know about various addons.
Being The Altoholic, I naturally have a lot of alts. I thought it would be appropriate to start of the mod feature on just that addon: Altoholic.
Altoholic is all about making information about alternate characters, or your alts, available to you at any time. After the jump, we’ll take a more in-depth look at this addon.

If you kept an eye on the WWI news a while back, the devs mentioned that they were looking at a way for characters to have two talent specs. What they did not say is whether this would be just an easy way to save, for instance, your PvE and PvP specs, and be able to easily switch at the trainer, or if you could switch on the fly any time you like–or, more likely, somewhere in the middle.
In a recent blue post, however, Bornakk says:
We talked about this recently at the Worldwide Invitational actually. We are looking into allowing players to basically have two talent specs that they can switch between but we are still working out the exact details so we will have to wait and see exactly how it will function in-game.
So maybe, just maybe, we’ll still get a bit of multi-spec love come LK.

Okay, so after fighting with Wordpress and my host, I think I’ve come out victorious. So, once again, I have activated the new theme (now improved to at least look decent in IE, though I still say you should go get Firefox). I also did some upgrades and manual editing of the Wordpress source to keep that bug that reverts my site to the default theme from popping up again. However, if you’re browsing around and notice that, once again, my site is using the default, bland, original Wordpress theme, leave me a comment here so I can fix it. Again.
At any rate, I hope you enjoy the new theme!

Even thought it took me a very long time, I finally have a level-capped character. Heck, I’ve done what I never thought possible and I have two! My warlock (who I don’t play) is 67, so if I wanted, I could easily have a third, and I’m leveling a rogue who’s in her mid 40’s, and I have a paladin who’s level 26.
I got to the 70 game pretty late. I’ve head enough time with Tasmyn that I’ve gotten some nice Kara tanking gear, and a piece of two of badge gear, nothing more. Sidara hasn’t stepped foot in a raid, has no badge gear–she’s been PvPing quite a bit. It’s late enough in BC time that I’m not going to worry about raiding–if I can run Kara every now and again, maybe get into ZA, fine, but I’m not going to push it–WotLK is coming too soon. But I’ve been thinking a lot about the future and exactly what I want to do when LK is released.
Being The Altoholic, I naturally have to create a death knight eventually. I’m not going to buy WotLK and never, ever create one. I’m all about seeing every zone, playing every class… in short, experiencing as much of this fantastic game as possible. When they were first announced, I wasn’t really excited about DK’s, and I’m not sure why. Just something about the way they were described, plus the idea of being one among a million other death knights created at the same time. Then, when some of their spells started being leaked (more here), I got pretty excited. I figured I’d get one of my mains to 80, let the DK hubub settle down, let most of the early adoptors abandon theirs, and create one of my own. Then, I saw some gameplay videos from the beta. The gameplay looks exactly like Blizzard described: epic. (I imagine the damage will be toned down during the beta, but the style still looks exciting and fun).
So, now I’m toying with the idea of creating a DK the moment I get home with my shiny new WotLK box. There are a couple reasons I’m hesitant:
- There will be approximately two million three hundred seventy eight thousand nine hundred fourty-two other death knights there with me. On my server alone.
- They start at level 55, so unless Blizzard does some sort of early-play deal, I not only get to experience Northrend later than everyone else, but I get to experience Outland first. Again.
- If I don’t end up liking the way the death knight feels, I’ll feel “behind” on my 70s that I’ll end up picking back up.
Maybe I’m being too worrysome; but I missed out on all raiding in Azeroth, all raiding save Kara in Outlands, and I want to get in head-first in Northrend.
What do you think? Am I being a sheep by thinking about creating a death knight immediately, much less at all? Or should I follow what I think I’ll really enjoy–except for the crowdedness–and go for it?
